Gratitude is the quality of being thankful and having the feeling of appreciation. Adopting an attitude of gratitude will bring about many positive changes in your life. You will experience more happiness, better health, more connection in your relationships, and even more productivity in your life. Having a deep inner feeling of gratitude for all the positive aspects of your life will cause your situation to look and feel different. You’ll start to see light and hope where there was only darkness and despair. Gratitude enhances optimism. When we focus on the things that we are grateful for, we are able to appreciate our circumstances and situations amidst the challenges. You may be wondering how you are supposed to feel grateful during difficult times or when your life is not going the way you want it to go. Maybe you are experiencing significant health issues, trying to cope after the loss of a loved one, or going through extreme financial hardships. No matter what challenges you are facing right now, I am here to tell you that developing an attitude of gratitude will start to turn any situation around. Many of us have forgotten or never learned the art of gratitude. It’s an internal quality that must be developed and strengthened. Sometimes our attention to the despair of our circumstances overshadow the many things that we can appreciate during the tough times. If you are finding it hard to find things to be grateful for then start with the fact that you opened your eyes today and were able to get out of bed. Take a few moments to appreciate nature, your loved ones or even that you are reading this email. The more things you feel appreciation for, the more things you will find to be grateful for. What we focus on expands; therefore, the more we focus on gratitude the more things we will have to be grateful for.
